What is Spoketober?
Spoketober is a celebration of the biking culture of Durango and La Plata County. During this month-long series of events, local partners and biking organizations will offer cycling experiences for visitors and locals alike.
When is Spoketober?
This year's Spoketober will occur from October 1-31.
Who is Invited to Participate?
We invite all Durango and La Plata County businesses, organizations, non-profits, and start-ups to participate by hosting a bike-related event during the timeframe.

Spoketober celebrates Durango’s rich cycling history and culture. Through engaging events, inspiring group rides, and educational programming, we strive to provide an unforgettable experience for both locals and visitors alike. We are committed to fostering an appreciation for the outdoors, promoting stewardship and responsible recreation, and driving economic impact in Durango through bike tourism. We believe in the power of inclusivity and diversity to create an inclusive biking community that celebrates Durango’s unique culture.

We want to make sure you have the resources to make Spoketober a success. As such, we are offering the following resources:
Submitting Your Event for Promotion
The Spoketober Working Group and Visit Durango have allocated budget and resources to promote specific events prior to Spoketober. This includes organic marketing, paid advertising, photography and videography of the event, and press releases.
In order to get access to all of these resources, we highly recommend filling out this form and getting your event published on Durango.org for free.
Event Marketing Grants
Up to $5,000 in grants from Visit Durango can be awarded and used for marketing-related purposes to develop and promote your Spoketober event or program. You can fill out this form here to apply.
Toolkit, Press, and Branding Kits
We have uploaded the tools, press, and branding kits to make your Spoketober event or program successful to a Google Drive folder for download.
Free Marketing Consultations
We have a team of local marketing experts available to help you strategize and plan your Spoketober event or program free of charge.
