Jason is a guitarist, singer and songwriter based out of Durango Colorado. He’s got a rock and country blues feel with a JJ Cale kinda groove. Since 1999 he has released 4 albums of original music, 2 of which (People Places Possibilities & Grey Matters) are available through Apple Music, YouTube and Spotify. His music was described by Peter Hay of Twin Vision as: "excellent; a wonderfully rootsy, bluesy, and exuberantly hook-filled sound." Thies has been a member of The Assortment for 16 years, along with Jeff Haspel and Michael Mixter. In 2017 the band added vocalist Patrice DeLorenzo. They play a wide variety of popular music from the 1950's on into the 21st century, as well as many original tunes. Also performing solo, Jason has often appeared at the Far View Lodge in Mesa Verde National Park. His past shows also include numerous gigs in Nashville at the Bluebird Cafe, Douglas Corner, the Commodore and both Hotels Indigo. While living in Austin TX, he played frequently at the Cactus Cafe, Hill's Cafe, the Pier at Lake Travis, Ruta Maya, and the Hideout, as well as many other venues in town. He is currently performing around southwest Colorado and northwest New Mexico, recording his next album, writing, and rehearsing new material.
