The dates for the 2024 Gathering are October 2nd to October 6th. According to True West's magazine "Best of the West", the Durango Cowboy Gathering is a "must see" event.

The Durango Herald named the Gathering one of 2023's the top 3 annual events in Durango. Each year, performers and audiences gather to promote and celebrate the American West with cowboy music, poetry, and storytelling. Saturday features a chuckwagon breakfast downtown followed by one of the largest motorless parades in Colorado. New this year will be the Horseback Social which will offer a variety of activities that will take place before the parade such as a petting corral and horseback rides for the kids.

Mission

The Durango Cowboy Gathering, Inc. is a non-profit organization working to preserve and perpetuate the traditions of working ranch people in the American West. We celebrate the lifeways of rural people by creating the "campfire" around which anyone with an interest can come to share in the appreciation of the culture and traditions unique to the West. Monies received support for the annual Gathering and our youth programs.
