Description
The San Juan Brewfest is the biggest and best beer-tasting festival in the Four Corners. It typically features up to 35 breweries, over 100 beers to taste, live music, and benefits United Way of Southwest Colorado. It is always held on the weekend before Labor Day weekend in Downtown Durango at Buckley Park. Tickets go on sale December 1, 2023, and ticket options include a VIP ticket, a General Admission ticket, and a Designated Driver ticket. Prices range from $20 to $100.

2024 is a two-day event. On Friday, August 23, from 5 to 8 pm, only 500 general admission tickets will be sold. No waiting in long lines! Attendees receive a souvenir 5 oz tasting glass, unlimited tastings from the participating breweries, and live music. Food will be available for purchase. Tickets are discounted 20% to only $40.
General admission and VIP tickets will be sold on Saturday, August 24. General Admission ticket holders can enter from 1 to 5 pm and receive a souvenir 5 oz tasting glass, unlimited tastings from the participating breweries, and live music. Food will be available for purchase. VIP ticket holders get in one hour early at noon and receive a souvenir 5 oz tasting glass, unlimited tastings from the participating breweries, a small meal, Brewfest merch, access to the VIP tent, and live music.
The Brewfest is a fundraiser for United Way of Southwest Colorado and produces about $50,000 annually for this great, local charity!
History
The Brewfest was born at Purgatory Resort in 1998, so is in its 25th year in 2024. It was held at the ski resort through 2007, and in 2008, moved to Downtown Durango where it became a fundraiser for our local United Way. Over the past 15 years, the event has grown from 300 attendees and 15 breweries to 2,000 attendees and nearly 40 breweries. The Durango Business Improvement District plans the Brewfest.
The Brewfest sells its tickets yearly and has become one of Durango’s best annual events.
The Brewfest enjoys a unique partnership with the Thirsty 13 Half Marathon. Runners can buy a half-price ticket to the Brewfest when registering for the race, and both events are always held on the same day.
Why Attend?
If you like craft beer, live music, and raising money for charity, the Brewfest is for you! Durango is a busy place in summer, but the Brewfest is always at the tail end of our high season when most families are no longer traveling for their summer vacations.
The weather is always nice at this time of year, and Buckley Park is a wonderful venue in Historic Downtown Durango for this event. Downtown offers over 200 unique shops and restaurants and bars for your enjoyment before and after the event. Hotels are reasonably priced.
Getting around Durango is easy with public transit, which is FREE on both days of the San Juan Brewfest.
There are direct flights daily to Durango from Denver, Phoenix, and Dallas.
