For over 35 years, the Durango and Cortez Adult Education Center has provided affordable and effective education to adults throughout southwest Colorado. We fill educational gaps by providing the skills and knowledge necessary for livable-wage careers, post-secondary education, and social and economic mobility.
To do this, we offer free or reduced-cost classes several times yearly. Classes include high school equivalency (GED), English as a Second Language (ESL), U.S. Citizenship prep, and computer literacy. Our Pearson Vue testing room is available for online testing, including GED exams so that adult students can earn their GED credentials.
The Center also offers free career advising, including career exploration, skills assessments, goal setting, college program research, job search resources, job interview help, and application assistance for colleges, scholarships, and federal student aid (FAFSA).
We also offer college scholarships for those who qualify.
